A Workshop For Parents and Caregivers

When a parent thinks about giving “the talk,” it usually brings a sense of dread. Some parents rush through important details to get it over with. Others keep postponing it until their teenager could teach them a thing or two. Some avoid the conversation altogether, hoping that the highschool P.E. teacher will do a decent enough job delivering the information. 

As parents, it’s your responsibility to prepare your kids with the necessary knowledge and tools for a life full of choices. They choose how to act in a classroom. They choose their friends. They choose how to react to bullies. And at some point, they will make choices on when to date, who to date, and what to do (or not do) with said dates. It’s your job to teach them how to make informed decisions for their health and safety. 

During this one-hour virtual workshop, you will get a crash course on how to teach your kid about sex and sexuality, with an opportunity to have your questions answered by our sexual wellness specialist. By the end of the workshop, you will have learned:

1. An overview of what to talk about throughout your child’s 18 years under your roof
2. Tips on how to make the conversations less awkward for everyone involved
3. Strategic ways to navigate those hard-to-answer questions
4. How to prepare your kid to make the smartest, most informed decisions about sex and sexuality

Who is this for?:  This workshop was created for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-18. Whether you are currently raising a teenager, or you’re a soon-to-be parent, you will gain valuable information that will help you feel more confident in tackling this crucial subject. 

This workshop is the first of the “How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex” series. This opening workshop will cover the general basics, making it great for parents of different-aged children. Future workshops in the series will break down the specifics by school age groups: early elementary, middle school, high school.

• Each workshop costs $35. Co-parents/caregivers can attend together with just one registration. Individuals can also register for the same price of $35.

Cancellation policy – your spot is reserved exclusively for you and your co-parents (if it applies). If you need to cancel for any reason, you must cancel 1 week in advance to get a 50% refund. If you cancel within the week of the workshop, you will get a 25% refund.
