Kalyn Daniels, LCSW

I found my home in Charlotte, where I fell in love with the city’s energy, resilience, and richly diverse community. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from UNC Charlotte, and later completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) at NC State University. After graduation, I worked in outpatient facilities assisting clients who were experiencing suicidality. These experiences shaped both my clinical foundation and my deep commitment to offering inclusive, affirming, and person-centered care for every client who walks through my (virtual or physical) door.

I specialize in working with people navigating the complexities of trauma, ADHD, boundaries, and burnout. If you’ve been moving through life in survival mode, constantly overwhelmed or over-functioning, therapy can be a respite to pause, breathe, and come back to yourself.

My approach is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and respect for your lived experience. I offer a therapeutic relationship where all parts of you are welcome: your grief, joy, neurodivergence, cultural identity, queerness, faith or lack thereof, uncertainty, and strengths. You don’t need to edit yourself to be understood here.

I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. My role isn’t to “fix” you; it’s to walk beside you as you reconnect with your own insight, resilience, and wisdom. Together, we’ll create space for you to explore, heal, and grow in ways that feel safe, authentic, and meaningful.

I’m fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) — a powerful, evidence-based tool for processing and healing trauma. I integrate EMDR with somatic practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and ADHD-friendly strategies to support your nervous system and help you feel more grounded and whole.

We’ll also work on boundaries —the real-life, messy kind that protect your peace, restore your energy, and help you show up more fully in your life and relationships. And we’ll talk about resilience — not as white-knuckling your way through pain, but as the deep, sustainable ability to adapt, heal, and stay connected to yourself.

Above all, my work is rooted in inclusive, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care. I honor the identities and stories you carry and work to make therapy a space where you feel genuinely seen and supported. Whether you’re neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, a person of color, or navigating systems that weren’t built with you in mind; you deserve care that’s attuned to your whole self.

This is your space. You set the pace. I’m here to walk alongside you with presence, warmth, and a belief that healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about coming home to who you’ve always been.
